Guerbet and Nuclidium Partner on Targeted Radiotheranostics

Medical imaging specialist Guerbet and radiotherapeutics startup Nuclidium have announced a strategic partnership aimed at advancing the development of copper-based radiopharmaceuticals for cancer treatment. The collaboration seeks to bring Nuclidium's diagnostic and therapeutic copper-based agents closer to commercialization.

Through the agreement, Nuclidium gains access to Guerbet's expertise in diagnostic imaging, manufacturing, and clinical trials. Guerbet is also making a strategic, non-exclusive investment in Nuclidium. As part of the deal, François Nicolas, Senior Vice President of R&D at Guerbet, will join Nuclidium's Board of Directors as an observer.

Nuclidium is developing targeted radiopharmaceuticals utilizing copper isotopes (61Cu and 67Cu), with a platform designed to allow a transition from diagnostics to therapeutics using the same targeting molecule. The company aims to simplify the production and distribution of these agents, which has been a significant challenge in the field.

The partnership aligns with Guerbet's growth strategy to broaden its core business areas. The company, with a long history in medical imaging, aims to improve patient care through the development of new solutions.
