Guerbet, a French company specializing in solutions for medical imaging, has enhanced its standing in the 2019 Gaïa Index, designed to evaluate responsible investing practices among mid-cap listed companies. The company's ranking climbed 20 places from the previous year, placing it 14th out of 230 firms.

Within the category for companies generating over 500 million euros in revenue, Guerbet advanced 13 places to secure the 12th position out of 85 companies. The firm attributes these improvements to its mature ESG (environmental, social, and governance) policy and related initiatives.

The Gaïa Index serves as a benchmark for sustainable development among listed French mid-cap companies. Firms are assessed based on 163 criteria covering economic, governance, human capital, environmental, and stakeholder factors. Guerbet's CFO, Jérôme Estampes, expressed pride in the outcome, noting it increases the company's visibility among institutional investors.

Guerbet's corporate social responsibility policy is structured around four pillars focused on improving patient prognoses, responsible social policies, environmental and safety considerations, and business ethics. The company has demonstrated notable progress across these areas, particularly in governance, employee well-being, and environmental performance, including resource management and waste control.
