Guerbet launches new multi-patient injector for CT imaging
Guerbet has received CE marking for its OptiVantage® multi-use injector, designed for administering contrast agents in CT scans.
Villepinte, France – Guerbet, a specialist in contrast agents and solutions for medical imaging, announced on November 23, 2018, that its OptiVantage® multi-use injector has obtained CE marking. The device is intended for injecting contrast agents used in computed tomography (CT) examinations.
The new multi-patient solution incorporates the established OptiVantage® syringe injector, along with a range of associated syringes and disposables, including the manyFill® day set and secufill® patient line. The offering is supported by services and systems under the OptiProtect™ program.
Initially, the OptiVantage® multi-use injector will be marketed in the EMEA region starting January 2019, with a phased introduction in other global regions such as Asia and Latin America to follow. The market for this solution represents over half of all CT procedures worldwide.
Existing customers of the OptiVantage® injector may be eligible for an upgrade to enable the new multi-use functionality. Guerbet first presented this solution at the Radiological Society of North America meeting in Chicago, held from November 25 to 30, 2018.
