Guerbet launches solar farm to power 18% of Dublin pharmaceutical operations
Pharmaceutical company Guerbet has commissioned a new solar farm at its Dublin site, which will meet 18% of the facility's electricity needs. The project marks the company's 30th year of operations in Ireland.

Guerbet, a pharmaceutical company specializing in medical imaging, has launched its first solar farm at its API manufacturing site in Dublin, Ireland. The 2.4MW solar farm is expected to cover approximately 18% of the facility's annual electricity requirements, contributing to a reduction in the company's carbon footprint.
The solar farm is situated on land owned by Guerbet and its electricity output is estimated to be equivalent to the annual consumption of around 500 households. During peak summer months, the facility could potentially operate on solar power alone during daylight hours.
This initiative aligns with Guerbet's corporate social responsibility strategy and its commitment to reducing carbon emissions. The company has set science-based targets to reduce its Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 27.5% and Scope 3 emissions by 13.5% by 2032.
The project was developed in partnership with renewable energy firm Enerpower by Greenvolt under a 20-year power purchase agreement. The launch coincides with Guerbet's celebration of 30 years of operation in Ireland, where it employs over 130 skilled workers.
