Guerbet, a global specialist in contrast agents and medical imaging solutions, released its financial results for the first half of 2026. The group's revenue stood at €379.2 million, showing a slight decrease of 0.1% on a like-for-like basis at constant exchange rates, aligning with the company's full-year forecast. This performance demonstrated business resilience despite issues at the Raleigh site and disruptions in the Chinese market.

The company's EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization) reached €30.6 million. However, the restated EBITDA margin was 9.1% of revenue, down from 12.9% in the prior year. This decline was significantly influenced by €14.3 million in exceptional costs related to a remediation plan at the Raleigh, North Carolina production facility. Consequently, Guerbet reported a net loss of €32.7 million for the period, a shift from a net income of €1.3 million in the first half of 2025.

Profitability was further affected by restructuring costs associated with the group's transformation plan, including a redundancy plan in France. This resulted in an operating loss of €18.4 million for the period, compared to an operating income of €15.0 million in H1 2025. Financial expenses amounted to €13.3 million.

Guerbet's financial position weakened, with net financial debt rising to €355.9 million, leading to a financial leverage ratio of 5.3x. The company is currently in discussions with its financial partners to finalize a refinancing arrangement by October 31, 2026. Despite these challenges, Guerbet reaffirmed its full-year financial targets for 2026.
