Gulbrandsen Launches HYPORE Portfolio of Polyolefin Catalyst Components
Gulbrandsen has commercially launched HYPORE, a portfolio of advanced silica supports and silica-supported chromium catalyst precursors for polyethylene production.
ORANGEBURG, SC – Chemical manufacturer Gulbrandsen announced the commercial launch of its HYPORE product line, featuring advanced silica supports and silica-supported chromium catalyst precursors for polyethylene catalyst systems. This expansion targets producers and manufacturers of polyethylene catalysts.
The HYPORE portfolio provides an additional commercial source for critical catalyst components, developed through several years of internal research and commercialization efforts. The company stated that the platform is designed to be flexible, allowing for customization of physical and chemical properties to meet specific polyethylene catalyst, process, and reactor requirements.
Gulbrandsen is offering tailored grades to customers and is engaged in qualification programs for both slurry and gas-phase polyethylene processes. Commercial quantities of select grades are available immediately, with customized solutions under development.
Manufacturing of the HYPORE products takes place at Gulbrandsen's new production facility, which includes dedicated process development and quality control capabilities. The company aims to ensure consistent product properties and reliable supply. This launch builds on Gulbrandsen's existing position as a supplier of metal alkyls and other materials used in polyolefin catalyst systems.
