Gunnebo Entrance Control to join ASSA ABLOY
Gunnebo Group has agreed to sell its Entrance Control business to ASSA ABLOY as part of a strategic refocusing on safe storage. The transaction is expected to close in late 2026.

Gunnebo Group, owned by private equity firms Altor and Stena, has entered into an agreement to sell its Entrance Control business unit to ASSA ABLOY, a global leader in access solutions. The divestment is a key step in Gunnebo Group's strategic transformation, which aims to streamline the company's operations.
Following the completion of this transaction, Gunnebo Group will concentrate exclusively on its Gunnebo Safe Storage division. This move aligns with the owners' strategy, initiated in 2020, to create more focused entities within the group, following the earlier sale of Gunnebo Cash Management in 2022.
Gunnebo Entrance Control, a provider of entrance control solutions, has seen investments in areas like artificial intelligence, software, and connected products. ASSA ABLOY stated that it believes its global platform will provide an enhanced environment for Gunnebo Entrance Control's continued growth and development.
The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and is anticipated to close by the fourth quarter of 2026. Evercore advised Gunnebo Group on the deal. Gunnebo Group plans to accelerate innovation and digital services within its remaining Safe Storage business.
