Commodities trader Gunvor Group Ltd has officially changed its name to Centalion Group Ltd. The company also announced its intention to move its legal domicile from Cyprus to Singapore. The name change and headquarters relocation are intended to reflect the company's new ownership structure, evolving leadership, and forward-looking strategic perspective.
Centalion's Chairman and CEO, Gary Pedersen, described the name change as "a move from a position of strength." He stated that Singapore and the new identity represent the next chapter for the company, which has recently strengthened its position as a global player in energy and metals trading. The relocation to Singapore is based on the country's established legal and business environment and its role as an international financial and trade hub.
The company's principal offices will remain in Singapore, Geneva, Switzerland, and Houston, Texas, USA. Centalion's business spans a wide range of energy sectors, including crude oil and its derivatives, natural gas and LNG, power and battery storage, biofuels, and carbon credits. Additionally, the company is expanding its operations into metals and minerals, as well as global shipping.
The name and brand transition will be implemented gradually over the coming months. The changes will not affect the company's existing contracts or obligations. Centalion also aims to increase its role as a partner for infrastructure investments within the energy sector.
