Chinese automaker GWM Wey has announced the upcoming release of new additions to its Gao Shan family. A new plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant is slated for launch within September, followed by a full hybrid (HEV) version expected in the fourth quarter of the year. These new models will be sold concurrently with the current Gao Shan offerings.

The company stated that the new members are designed to cater to different user preferences through distinct styling and positioning. The current Gao Shan models are available with a limited-time promotional price starting at 265,800 yuan (approximately $36,000 USD).

Information released by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) previously indicated details about these new vehicles. The Gao Shan 9 is a six-seater MPV measuring 5,410 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,890 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,275 mm. It is designated as a hybrid without external charging capabilities.

The Gao Shan 8 Hi4 is a seven-seater hybrid multi-purpose vehicle, utilizing gasoline and electric power but not requiring external charging. Its dimensions are 5,280 mm long, 1,960 mm wide, and 1,900 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,145 mm. This expansion signifies GWM Wey's strategy to broaden its electrified vehicle portfolio.
