Hainan Commercial Aerospace Launch Site Phase Two Completed
The second phase of Hainan's commercial space launch site has been completed, adding two new launch pads. The expansion is set to significantly increase the site's launch capacity.

The second phase of Hainan's commercial space launch site is now substantially complete, incorporating two additional launch pads. The facility has officially entered the full system joint exercise phase following the construction.
This expansion project aims to boost the site's annual launch capacity to over 60 missions. The construction included the development of launch pads three and four, fuel storage areas, rocket and satellite assembly plants, and a telemetry station. The project covers an area of over 1100 mu (approximately 73.3 hectares) and was undertaken by Hainan International Commercial Aerospace Launch Co., Ltd. Construction began in January 2025 and took approximately 730 days.
Hainan International Commercial Aerospace Launch Co., Ltd. operates China's first dedicated commercial space launch base, located in Wenchang, Hainan province. The site's first universal liquid propellant launch pad was completed in June 2024, with its inaugural rocket launch occurring in November of the same year. By March 2025, the facility had achieved dual-pad launch capability.
