Halide Camera App Adds Full iPhone 18 Pro Aperture Control

Lux Optics has updated its Halide camera app for iPhone and iPad, adding full control over the new iPhone 18 Pro's variable aperture main camera. This update provides more detailed control than other third-party apps that have added support for the feature.

Apple's native iOS camera app limits aperture adjustments to four presets. While BlackMagic Camera and Moment Pro Camera II expanded this to 10 presets in 1/3 stop increments, similar to most digital cameras, Halide Mark III allows for more finite control over aperture settings.

Halide, known for its "anti-algorithm" approach, aims to give photographers more manual control over their image output. This new functionality represents a significant advancement in mobile photography, enabling a more professional level of creative freedom.

The update also includes two new photography looks. The Halide app is available for iPhone and iPad devices.
