Hamlet BioPharma and ImmunoForge to Develop New Tuberculosis Drug Administration

Swedish pharmaceutical company Hamlet BioPharma has entered into an agreement with South Korean biotechnology firm ImmunoForge to develop a novel administration technology for Hamlet's peptide drug candidate, NZX. The drug is intended for the treatment of tuberculosis.

Global mortality from tuberculosis remains high, with treatment options increasingly challenged by antibiotic resistance. The antimicrobial peptide NZX has shown promising results in animal models for pulmonary tuberculosis, demonstrating efficacy against both antibiotic-sensitive and resistant strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.

ImmunoForge, based in Seoul, specializes in developing new drug delivery techniques for clinical use. The company initiated this collaboration with Hamlet BioPharma to create a slow-release technology for the NZX peptide, aiming to extend the duration of each treatment dose.

Both companies will jointly own the future rights and patent rights stemming from this collaboration.
