Hands-on Experiences Reshape Consumer Electronics Presentations
At IFA 2026 in Berlin, Metapen emphasized product interaction over technical specifications. The focus is shifting to how consumers experience and use devices.

At IFA 2026 in Berlin, technology company Metapen showcased a new approach to presenting consumer electronics. Instead of solely focusing on technical specifications, Metapen highlighted the hands-on user experience, encouraging visitors to interact directly with its products. This strategy reflects a broader industry shift in how complex devices are marketed.
"As products become more sophisticated, specifications alone don't always communicate their value," said Jarkko Virtanen, a sales representative for Metapen. "The first few seconds of using a product can be more revealing than a presentation." This is particularly true for items like stylus pens, whose utility for various tasks—from children's drawing to professional note-taking and document signing—is best understood through direct use.
A demonstration at the event showed a young girl immediately begin drawing on a tablet with a stylus pen without complex instructions. This interaction underscored Metapen's philosophy that technology should feel natural, allowing users to focus on their creative process. The company develops stylus pens for devices including iPads, Surfaces, and Chromebooks, aiming to make digital writing and creation more accessible.
Metapen views the stylus pen as integral to the user experience, bridging hardware, software, and human creativity. Products that enhance technological intuitiveness are increasingly important for digital learning, work, and creative activities. While IFA remains a venue for technical innovation, Metapen's approach suggests that a product's value can also be measured by the immediate experience it offers a user.
