Hankook to supply tires for WRC season finale in Sardinia

Hankook Tire & Technology, the exclusive tire supplier for the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), is preparing for the season's final round, Rally Italia Sardegna. The event is scheduled to take place from October 1 to 4 around Alghero, Sardinia, and will determine the Drivers' Championship.

Now in its 23rd edition, Rally Italia Sardegna is a historic gravel event. Following the removal of Rally Saudi Arabia from the WRC calendar, the Italian contest will conclude the 2026 season. With the championship on the line, tire performance and strategic choices for navigating challenging roads and unpredictable October weather are expected to be critical.

The rally features 17 Special Stages (SS) covering approximately 307 kilometers of unpaved roads. The route includes narrow, tree-lined sections, blind crests, and known obstacles like Micky's Jump. Deep ruts formed by repeated passes and rough, rocky stretches will place high demands on tire durability and vehicle stability.

Hankook will provide its Dynapro R213 all-terrain rally tires in Hard and Soft compounds. These tires are engineered to absorb impacts, offer stable grip, and ensure precise handling and durability on demanding stages. In the previous round, Rally Chile Biobío, Toyota GAZOO Racing World Rally Team secured the 2026 Manufacturers' Championship, their sixth consecutive title.

Hankook's role as the exclusive tire supplier across all WRC classes highlights its global motorsport expertise. The company leverages data from approximately 70 worldwide motorsport competitions, including the WRC, in its research and development to drive innovation in high-performance tire technology and enhance its competitiveness as a global brand.
