SEOUL, South Korea – Hanon Systems, a global provider of automotive thermal management solutions, has released a white paper outlining its advancements in next-generation natural refrigerant technologies that are free from PFAS compounds.
The development addresses the increasing environmental regulations worldwide that restrict the use of traditional refrigerants in vehicle air conditioning systems. PFAS, or per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, are persistent chemicals facing scrutiny due to potential health and environmental risks.
Billed as a potential replacement for current refrigerants, the paper focuses on CO2-based technologies. It examines the technical feasibility, performance characteristics, and system integration requirements for these emerging solutions.
