Software delivery platform company Harness and API and AI connectivity technology provider Kong Inc. have expanded their strategic partnership to address security challenges in AI-driven architectures and autonomous agents.
The collaboration aims to tackle growing security concerns as enterprises rapidly adopt AI technologies. Reports indicate that many organizations lack visibility into where AI models are deployed, and AI-related risks are projected to surpass traditional API risks. This necessitates infrastructure-level security embedded within the workflow.
The expanded joint solution extends Kong's API Gateway security capabilities to encompass Harness's AI security intelligence. This integration allows for the discovery, monitoring, and protection of AI assets, including large language models (LLMs) and autonomous agents, directly at the infrastructure layer. The new Kong AI Gateway will provide automated AI asset discovery and real-time protection.
Partnership executives highlighted that the existing integration has provided robust API security for joint customers. Extending this to AI gateways is seen as a logical progression. They emphasized that traditional security tools are insufficient for protecting dynamic AI systems, and this integration places crucial security intelligence directly at the AI traffic flow point.
