Harrison Street Merges European Operations with RoundShield as HSAM Europe
Harrison Street Asset Management will integrate its European investment platform into RoundShield Partners, rebranding the combined entity as HSAM Europe. The unified platform will manage over $10 billion in assets.
CHICAGO and LONDON, July 20, 2026 – Harrison Street Asset Management (HSAM) announced today the integration of its European investment platform with RoundShield Partners. The combined entity will be rebranded as HSAM Europe.
The move creates a unified European operating platform with total assets under management (AUM) exceeding $10 billion across multiple European strategies. HSAM had acquired a majority interest in RoundShield, a European investment manager focused on asset-backed credit and private capital solutions, in July 2025.
HSAM Europe will be led by co-heads Driss Benkirane and Paul Bashir. Benkirane, founder of RoundShield, will also serve as Chief Investment Officer. Bashir, formerly CEO of Harrison Street Europe, will oversee the equity business and focus on capital formation. The integrated team, comprising over 90 members, will operate from offices in London, Berlin, Geneva, Luxembourg, Madrid, and Munich.
"This is a pivotal moment for Harrison Street, as we unify our European business under a single brand, culture, and operating platform," said Christopher Merrill, Global CEO of HSAM. Benkirane stated that the combined force will be better positioned to introduce new capabilities for investors.
HSAM Europe is also launching a new European Private Debt Fund, focusing on senior secured, real estate-backed lending in Western Europe. The fund has commenced with strong momentum, having completed its initial investment.
