HARTING commissions fuel cell plant in Espelkamp

HARTING Technology Group has commissioned a new fuel cell plant at its Espelkamp site in Germany. The pilot plant, manufactured by Reverion, complements the company's existing biogas and photovoltaic facilities.

Initially, the plant will convert locally produced biogas directly into electricity, making the energy supply at the Espelkamp site more efficient and climate-neutral. In the future, it is also intended to temporarily store renewable energy as green hydrogen and convert it back into usable energy when needed.

"The plant perfectly complements our energy management," said Philip Harting, CEO of HARTING Technology Group. "It is not just another building block for climate-neutral production, but it also enables a sustainable and resilient energy supply during shortages or peak demand." HARTING states that Reverion's technology offers exceptionally high efficiency throughout the entire energy cycle. The company is currently testing various system configurations.

To integrate the technology effectively, the Reverion plant utilizes HARTING connectors from the Han portfolio, providing robust interfaces for energy and data transfer and ensuring seamless system interaction.
