HARTING Wins Industrial AI Award

The HARTING Technology Group has been awarded the Industrial AI Award ‘FREDDIE’ for its ‘Connectivity AI’ application. The technology impressed the expert jury in the ‘Game Changer’ category, recognizing its combination of an adaptive language model with generative design and conceptual expertise.

The award-winning application allows users to generate complete product ideas for new connection solutions at the touch of a button. This includes sketches, CAD models, and simulations, generated in real-time based on technical requirements entered in natural language. The AI analyzes and trains these requirements to produce relevant design outputs, significantly accelerating the product development cycle.

The Industrial AI Award was initiated by Industrial Pioneers and UnternehmerTUM and presented in Munich on October 16. HARTING stated that ‘Connectivity AI’ addresses challenges associated with manual design processes, such as lengthy iterations and testing, as well as a shortage of skilled personnel.

Developed as part of an internal innovation program, the solution aims to free up engineers from routine tasks, allowing them to concentrate on strategic problem-solving. HARTING plans to continue developing the application by enhancing its speed, adding new simulation tools, and expanding its component library, with the goal of providing added value to both the company and its customers.
