Levent Alpöge, a researcher at Harvard University, announced on social media that he, with the assistance of Anthropic's Fable AI model, may have solved the 87-year-old Jacobian Conjecture. The potential resolution of this long-standing mathematical problem has generated significant interest and debate among mathematicians and AI researchers.

The Jacobian Conjecture, proposed in 1939 by German mathematician Eduard Ott-Heinrich Keller, deals with the invertibility of polynomial mappings. Alpöge, 33, focused on finding a counterexample to disprove the conjecture. His claimed counterexample is remarkably concise, consisting of only 216 characters.
