Haval, a Chinese automotive brand, has officially released the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) variant of its "Great Dog" SUV. The launch introduces a more fuel-efficient option to the "Great Dog" lineup, catering to consumer demand for sustainable mobility without compromising on utility.

The "Great Dog" HEV is offered in both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive configurations. Pricing for the new model starts at a promotional rate of 105,900 yuan (approximately $14,500 USD) for the entry-level version, with higher trims reaching up to 137,900 yuan. The three available trims are Hi2 Electric Hybrid Pro, Hi4 Electric Hybrid MAX, and Hi4 Electric Hybrid Navigator.

Visually, the "Great Dog" HEV retains the signature boxy exterior design characteristic of the model line. It features a refreshed front grille design and optional three-color accent elements. The interior mirrors the design of the gasoline-powered version, including a distinctive grab handle for the front passenger and a large, floating central infotainment display.

In terms of technology, the vehicle is equipped with the Coffee Pilot 3 Lite advanced driver-assistance system, which utilizes 26 sensors, including 4D millimeter-wave radar, to support highway and urban autonomous driving capabilities. The hybrid powertrain boasts a thermal efficiency of 41.5% and achieves a combined WLTC fuel consumption of 5.2 L/100km for the two-wheel-drive variant and 5.65 L/100km for the four-wheel-drive. The system combines a 1.5T engine with an electric motor, delivering a total system torque of 670 Nm and enabling a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 6.6 seconds.
