Haver & Boecker collects 15 tons of plastic waste for recycling

Haver & Boecker OHG, a German machinery manufacturer, has successfully completed a collection campaign for plastic packaging waste. The company gathered a total of 15 tons of plastic scraps generated during test runs of its ADAMS® technology.

The objective was to demonstrate that plastic packaging, particularly the single-material PE bags used by the ADAMS® system, can be effectively collected and returned to the recycling loop. The collected material was sent to partner Berry Global's plant in Steinfeld, where it was processed for the production of new PE bags.

The ADAMS® technology fills powdered products into PE bags. According to the company, these bags are easily recyclable as they are made of a single material and can be completely emptied of residues. Haver & Boecker emphasizes that proper recycling of plastic packaging is crucial for utilizing the material's potential and minimizing environmental impact.

The campaign aimed to raise awareness about the recyclability of plastic packaging and to practically show how plastic waste can be transformed into new, valuable materials. Haver & Boecker believes that recycling material is a resource-efficient solution that reduces waste and lowers the carbon footprint.
