Haver & Boecker introduces intelligent bag scanner
German company Haver & Boecker has developed an intelligent bag scanner to reduce errors and optimize filling processes. The solution was implemented at the Croatian cement plant NEXE d.d.

German industrial packaging specialist Haver & Boecker OHG has launched an intelligent bag scanner designed to minimize error rates and enhance the efficiency of bulk goods filling processes.
The new scanning technology was first implemented at NEXE d.d., Croatia's second-largest cement producer. The system identifies quality characteristics of the bag material, ensuring that only suitable bags are used in the filling process, thereby reducing product waste and reject rates.
HAVER & BOECKER's engineers collaborated closely with NEXE d.d. to define the specific requirements for the scanner. Following approximately one year of development, the scanner was integrated into the existing fully automatic RADIMAT® bag opener. The system utilizes QR codes printed on the empty bags to identify bag batches, monitor production in real time, and document errors.
NEXE d.d. previously installed Haver & Boecker's ROTO-PACKER® RVT SEAL Edition filling machine and RADIMAT® bag applicator, which have contributed to optimized production conditions and improved cleanliness.
