Haver & Boecker PATHFINDER Automates Bag Handling for Packaging Lines
Haver & Boecker OHG has launched its PATHFINDER conveyor system to automate the transfer of empty bags to packaging machines. The system aims to increase efficiency and safety, even in confined spaces.
Haver & Boecker OHG has introduced the RADIMAT PATHFINDER® Edition, an automated conveyor system designed to enhance the efficiency of valve bag packaging processes, particularly in space-constrained environments. The system transports empty bags from Haver & Boecker's RADIMAT® bag feeding and application device to the ROTO-PACKER® packaging machine, facilitating a fully automated packaging line.
The new system is reported to offer significant improvements in flexibility and efficiency for industries including cement, building materials, and food processing. The PATHFINDER system enables the automation of packaging lines in locations previously posing logistical challenges and aims to minimize worker exposure to dust. Haver & Boecker states the system also reduces maintenance requirements and enhances workplace safety.

The PATHFINDER system's route can be curved and adapted flexibly, allowing for the positioning of the RADIMAT and ROTO-PACKER machines in separate areas if needed. The company also offers a simplified version of the PATHFINDER without the RADIMAT, where operators manually feed bags into the conveyor system, which then automatically places them onto the filling spouts. In this configuration, personnel still benefit from the safety advantages of the automated system.
