Haver & Boecker Supplies Sun Protection for French School
Haver & Boecker has provided architectural mesh for sun protection at the Louis Lachenal College in France. The installation aims to enhance the school's energy efficiency and aesthetic appeal.

German company Haver & Boecker OHG has supplied a sun protection system for the Louis Lachenal College in Verrières-le-Buisson, France. The architectural solution was integrated into the school's facade rehabilitation during the summer of 2023, utilizing Haver & Boecker's MULTI-BARRETTE 8123 stainless steel architectural mesh.
The French architectural firm Fleurent Architectes SARL specified the Haver & Boecker architectural mesh during the planning phase. The mesh's double-layer structure offers exceptional flexibility and creates a visually striking appearance when installed in clusters. The aim was to modernize the school building's exterior while providing functional benefits.
The mesh's semi-transparent geometry effectively blocks unwanted UV radiation while ensuring efficient air circulation due to its approximately 64% open area. This helps prevent heat buildup, particularly in front of windows, thereby improving indoor comfort during warmer months. The sun protection function does not obstruct outward views and allows for sufficient natural light inside.
Haver & Boecker's architectural mesh solutions for facades offer a blend of aesthetic appeal and functionality. The material's durability and low maintenance requirements make it a cost-effective choice for both renovation and new construction projects.
