HBO Max Drama 'The Pitt' Secures 13 Acting Emmy Nominations

The HBO Max drama series "The Pitt" earned a significant number of nominations for the upcoming Emmy Awards, with 13 acting nods announced on Wednesday. The series, which centers on the intense environment of a Pittsburgh emergency department, has been recognized for its ensemble cast.

Out of the 25 total nominations for the show, the majority now belong to its actors. This marks a substantial increase from its previous season, where the cast received three nominations and won all three. This year's nominations highlight the performances of the doctors, nurses, and patients depicted in the series.

"It feels really exciting to have more of my colleagues up on the board," said actress Katherine LaNasa, who plays Nurse Dana. "You’re happy when you get acknowledged, but you kind of know that you’re only there because of everybody else. So the more people that are getting acknowledged, the better it feels." LaNasa is among those nominated in a supporting category.

Several cast members are competing against each other within the same categories. Noah Wyle is the sole lead actor nomination for the series. Other nominations include supporting actors and guest stars, recognizing a wide range of performances from recurring characters to episodic patient storylines.

The 13 acting nominations position "The Pitt" as a strong contender at this year's Emmy Awards ceremony, which is scheduled to take place in September.
