HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, a South Korean shipbuilding and energy conglomerate, has finalized significant deals to supply power generation systems to U.S. data centers. The contract covers systems with a total capacity of 1,000 megawatts (MW), valued at USD 673.8 million.
The orders underscore the growing demand for reliable, large-scale power solutions in the data center sector. As data centers increasingly support artificial intelligence and digital services, their electricity consumption rises, necessitating robust power infrastructure.
The systems will incorporate HD Hyundai Heavy Industries' HiMSEN engine technology, recognized for its reliability and performance. These units are engineered to meet the continuous and substantial power requirements of modern data facilities.
