HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering partners with Siemens on AI shipbuilding platform

HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) has finalized an agreement with Siemens Digital Industries Software to implement a next-generation marine platform. This collaboration aims to digitally transform the shipbuilding industry by integrating AI and advanced technologies.

The new platform will consolidate the entire shipbuilding lifecycle, from design and production to supply chain management and quality control, into a single 3D-model-based data environment. This integration is intended to ensure consistent information flow across all stages of construction and facilitate informed decision-making to prevent delays and quality issues.

HD KSOE plans to create a "Virtual Shipyard" to simulate production processes and equipment operations digitally. This move is part of a larger strategy to build an autonomous manufacturing system, paving the way for future "Physical AI Shipyards" where robots and automated systems manage tasks independently.

This initiative is expected to significantly improve production efficiency, product quality, and workforce productivity, ultimately aiming to enhance the global competitiveness of the shipbuilding sector.
