Health, Security, and Business Leaders Urge Continued U.S. Engagement in Pan American Health Organization

Washington D.C. – A group of former U.S. health administrators, White House officials, corporate leaders, and other influential figures have issued an open letter urging the United States to continue its leadership, engagement, and investment in the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO).
The appeal, led by Friends of PAHO, highlights the significance of the 124-year-old regional health organization. The signatories are calling for the U.S. to sustain its role as a key health leader for the Americas and to continue supporting PAHO's efforts in addressing health challenges and strengthening health systems across the region.
PAHO serves as a critical coordinating body for managing pandemics, infectious diseases, and other public health emergencies. Its work encompasses supporting vaccination campaigns, epidemiological surveillance, and developing health policies for its member states.
