HealthyWomen Launches Brain Health Coalition for Midlife Care
HealthyWomen has launched a new Brain Health Coalition, bringing together employers, health systems, and organizations to promote brain health as part of midlife healthcare.

HealthyWomen announced on July 10, 2026, the launch of the Brain Health Coalition. This cross-sector initiative unites employers, health systems, medical associations, research institutions, community organizations, and patient voices. The aim is to transform how Americans understand, access, and act on brain health, specifically by normalizing Alzheimer's disease within midlife care.
The initiative highlights that Alzheimer's-related brain changes can begin decades before symptoms appear. Beth Battaglino, CEO of HealthyWomen, stated that midlife represents a critical window for intervention that has been systematically overlooked. The coalition seeks to build the infrastructure for change across sectors and communities.
The coalition's work is structured around three pillars: perception, education, and policy. A founding steering committee guides the effort, including members such as the Alzheimer's Association, the National Health Council, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Founding strategic partners, including Eli Lilly & Company, provide support.
HealthyWomen contributes nearly 40 years of established relationships with patients, clinicians, policymakers, and the broader health ecosystem. Given that nearly two-thirds of Americans with Alzheimer's are women, who also bear the majority of the caregiving burden, these factors have shaped the coalition's design.
