Hearing Groups Launch Campaign on Community Sounds and Hearing Health Awareness
The Hearing Industries Association and the Hearing Loss Association of America have launched the "Sounds of America" campaign, celebrating community sounds and raising awareness of hearing health.

Washington D.C. – The Hearing Industries Association (HIA) and the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA) have launched "Sounds of America," an eight-week public engagement campaign. The initiative aims to celebrate the unique sounds that define American communities while simultaneously increasing awareness about the importance of hearing health.
The campaign invites individuals nationwide to share the sounds that characterize their hometowns and communities. By reflecting on sounds ranging from ocean waves to stadium cheers, the initiative seeks to make conversations about hearing loss more relatable and personal, encouraging a broader discussion on protecting hearing.
"The sounds we love are worth celebrating," stated Bridget Dobyan, Executive Director of HIA. "Our hearing connects us to the people, places, and things that make our community," added Barbara Kelley, Executive Director of HLAA. Both leaders emphasized the goal of inspiring reflection on meaningful sounds and fostering dialogue about preserving hearing.
Participation is encouraged through social media, where individuals can share video responses using the hashtag #SoundsofAmerica. Throughout the campaign, HIA and HLAA will feature stories and perspectives from hearing industry leaders and user-submitted videos.
