Heidelberg Expands Digital Printing in Eastern Europe with Klampfer Druck Installation

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG (HEIDELBERG) is strengthening its digital printing capabilities in Eastern Europe, anticipating that digitally printed output will represent around 44% of commercial print volume in the region by 2030.

Austrian full-service printer Klampfer Druck has installed the Jetfire 50 system at its St. Ruprecht an der Raab facility. This addition complements their existing Speedmaster XL 106 and CX 104 offset presses, aiming to support shorter print runs, personalization, and faster turnaround times.

The Jetfire 50 is capable of producing up to 4,560 SRA3 duplex sheets per hour. It is intended to make print runs of approximately 1,000–2,000 copies more economical within a hybrid production setup. Klampfer Druck is also utilizing HEIDELBERG's Vendor Managed Inventory service for consumables.

This investment is part of a broader automation and finishing strategy, helping the company address labor shortages and improve production availability. Managing Directors Daniela and Robert Klampfer highlighted shorter runs and personalization as key market trends influencing their production strategy.
