Helcim, a payments processing company headquartered in Calgary, has announced the closing of a $53 million Series C funding round. The investment elevates the company's valuation to $250 million CAD.
The funding round was led by BDC's Growth Venture Fund, with participation from Curql Collective, Gold House Ventures, and existing investors. Helcim stated the capital will be used to accelerate growth and invest in product development.
The company provides payment solutions for businesses, with a recent focus on expanding services for small and medium-sized enterprises. This funding comes at a time when some traditional banks have been re-evaluating their involvement in the small business payments sector.
