Helgoland Ferry Services Resume
Ferries MS Funny Girl and Halunder Jet will resume services from Büsum on Thursday, following cancellations due to high waves on Wednesday.
Ferry services to the island of Helgoland from Büsum, Germany, are set to resume on Thursday, July 23. After being canceled on Wednesday, July 22, due to high wave activity, both the MS Funny Girl (Adler & Eils) and the Halunder Jet (FRS Helgoline) are scheduled to return to their regular timetables.
However, the catamaran Nordlicht II, operated by Adler & Eils, will remain docked. The shipping company cited the predicted wave heights as the reason for further cancellations of its services. Passengers affected by the cancellations must contact the point of sale to rebook their tickets, as they will not be automatically refunded or valid for alternative sailings.
The cancellations on Wednesday caused disruptions for many travelers planning to visit the island. Improved weather conditions and reduced wave heights on Thursday have made it possible to reinstate services for the two primary ferries.
The resumption of regular ferry traffic is crucial for the island's residents and for the tourism sector. Passengers are advised to check for any last-minute updates directly with the ferry operators.
