HelpMeSee expands cataract surgery training to 51 doctors in Northeast India
HelpMeSee, in partnership with HMS Vision Private Limited and Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, has trained 51 ophthalmologists in Northeast India using simulation-based surgical technology.

HelpMeSee has completed a targeted training initiative in Northeast India, providing simulation-based cataract surgical instruction to 51 ophthalmologists across four states. The project, conducted in partnership with HMS Vision Private Limited and Sri Sankaradeva Nethralaya, aims to modernize surgical training protocols in the region.
The initiative focuses on bridging the gap in surgical capacity by utilizing high-fidelity simulators that allow surgeons to refine technical skills without patient risk. This approach is increasingly viewed as a necessary supplement to traditional residency-based learning, particularly in areas with high patient volumes and limited surgical mentorship.
India continues to grapple with a high prevalence of cataract-related blindness, with rural and northeastern regions often facing the greatest shortages of trained surgical professionals. This expansion marks a continued effort by international health organizations to standardize surgical outcomes through technological intervention.
