Helsinki Walk Uncovers City's Historical Narratives

Helsinki Partners has introduced a new year-round "History of Helsinki Walk" tour, offering participants an in-depth look at the historical development of the Finnish capital.

The 90-minute guided tour, conducted in English, starts at the National Library located at Unioninkatu 36. It aims to answer questions about how significant historical events, such as the role of Lutheran faith in Finnish literacy and education, or the acceleration of industrialization due to WWII, have shaped Finland and its capital city.

The objective is to provide participants with a deeper perspective on modern Finland and life in Helsinki. The tour delves into the connections between historical occurrences and contemporary Finnish society, aiming to enrich the understanding of both residents and visitors.

Pricing for private tours starts at 250 euros plus 24% VAT for groups of 1-10 people, with different rates for larger groups. The service is available throughout the year, providing a consistent opportunity to explore Helsinki's past.
