Henan province launches initiative to boost electric vehicle consumption

The Henan provincial government has issued a series of directives aimed at stimulating automotive sales across the region. A primary focus of the new policy is the expansion of electric vehicle (EV) outreach to rural areas, integrating regional efforts with national consumer support programs.

The policy mandates the implementation of national vehicle purchase tax exemptions, vessel tax reductions, and subsidies for vehicle trade-ins and scrappage. Furthermore, local governments are encouraged to issue consumption vouchers targeting automotive maintenance, tire services, and battery care to incentivize spending throughout the entire vehicle lifecycle.

Additionally, the directive highlights plans to reform automotive trade in Zhengzhou. By promoting new business models such as automotive camping, driving tourism, and racing events, the government aims to link vehicle consumption with the cultural and tourism sectors to create a more integrated consumer ecosystem.
