HERMOS AG Acquires Lochner, Adding 33 Skilled Employees

Mistelgau, Germany – HERMOS AG has strengthened its workforce and production capabilities by acquiring Lochner, a switchgear and control cabinet manufacturer based in Marktleugast. The acquisition brings 33 new, skilled employees into the HERMOS group.

The move, according to Jörg Herrmannsdörfer, who oversees finances for the company, was an opportunity for HERMOS to secure new jobs and qualified personnel after Lochner faced insolvency. He stated that the company could not pass up the chance. This acquisition is particularly significant given the increasing shortage of skilled labor in the industry.

HERMOS's switchgear manufacturing division will benefit from the integration of Lochner. Previously, the company often relied on temporary staff to manage peak production loads. With the acquisition, the facilities can now assist each other, smoothing out workload fluctuations. "I am sure that we will fertilize each other," Herrmannsdörfer commented.

The HERMOS group, which reported a turnover of approximately 70 million euros last year, continues to pursue sustainable growth. Beyond switchgear production, the company provides automation and IT solutions for industrial, energy, environmental, and building sectors. HERMOS has a global presence and has undertaken major projects, including at Frankfurt Airport.
