Hero Esports CEO: Esports Fosters Shared Urban Experiences
Hero Esports CEO Danny Tang stated at LEAP East 2026 that esports plays a vital role in creating shared, real-life experiences that bring people together in modern cities.

Hero Esports Co-Founder and CEO Danny Tang stated in Hong Kong on July 13, 2026, that esports are crucial for fostering unity in cities through shared, real-world experiences. The comments were made at the LEAP East 2026 technology conference.
The inaugural LEAP East 2026, held from July 8th to 10th at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, attracted over 25,000 attendees from the Asia-Pacific region. Tang participated in a panel discussion titled 'The Living Platform: How AI and Immersive Tech Redefine Urban Value'.
During the panel, Tang emphasized the significance of in-person gatherings. "There's tremendous value in bringing people together in real life and in real time," Tang said. "Esports, by nature, is similar to traditional sports, where everything happens at the right moment. Nothing beats being there in person and cheering for your home team together with your friends. That's what we're trying to create with esports."
Tang also highlighted that esports events should reflect the unique character of each host city, suggesting that the fan experience begins upon arrival and continues throughout and after the event.
