Hesai Launches Kosmo 3D World Data Engine
Hesai Group has introduced its Kosmo 3D World Data Engine, a system designed to enhance physical AI development by capturing and processing real-time 3D data.

Shanghai – Hesai Group (Nasdaq: HSAI; HKEX: 2525) has launched the Kosmo 3D World Data Engine, a system intended to address a critical bottleneck in physical AI: the availability of high-quality, real-world data at scale.
Kosmo integrates the Kosmo One device, which Hesai describes as the world's first AI spatial camera, with the Kosmo World cloud platform. This combination transforms physical environments into detailed 3D digital spaces suitable for robot training, world model development, and immersive content creation. The company also announced strategic partnerships with Galbot and Dexmal, and showcased applications developed with Pixar's RenderMan and Amap.
The Kosmo One is characterized as an 8K ultra-high-definition AI spatial camera integrating lidar, a one-inch image sensor, and a precision IMU. This setup enables the capture of geometry, color, texture, and camera position with microsecond accuracy. Advanced 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) reconstruction achieves millimeter-level geometric precision and lifelike detail.
Hesai reports that the Kosmo system can create a 3D training environment in approximately 15 minutes, compared to an estimated 300 hours of manual work previously. This significantly accelerates the development and deployment of embodied AI systems, as demonstrated in a practical application at a Dairy Queen restaurant. The company anticipates Kosmo will provide substantial value in fields such as filmmaking, cultural tourism, and other spatial data applications.
