Hesai Technology Secures Great Wall Motor Deal for ETX Lidar
Hesai Technology announced it has received a new vehicle designation from Great Wall Motor for its ETX over-thousand-line lidar. Production is set to begin in late 2026.
Chinese lidar manufacturer Hesai Technology has secured a new vehicle designation from Great Wall Motor for its ETX automotive-grade, long-range lidar system. The company expects to commence mass production and delivery of the ETX in late 2026.
The ETX lidar is described by Hesai as the world's highest-line-count, longest-ranging automotive lidar platform. It supports configurations from 1080 to 4320 lines and is capable of detecting objects at ranges up to 600 meters for higher reflectivity targets and 400 meters for targets with 10% reflectivity.
Great Wall Motor brands, including Wey, Tank, Ora, and Haval, already utilize Hesai's lidar technology in their vehicles. This latest agreement marks a further expansion of Hesai's partnerships within the automotive sector.
The system is designed to identify smaller objects at distances down to 150 meters. Hesai stated the ETX can clearly identify targets such as water barriers (120x60 cm) within 300 meters and small animals (60x40 cm) at 280 meters.
