Hexagon completes 1.45 billion USD acquisition of Waygate Technologies
Hexagon has finalized the acquisition of non-destructive testing firm Waygate Technologies from Baker Hughes, integrating the business into its Manufacturing Intelligence division.

Hexagon has completed its acquisition of Waygate Technologies, a global provider of non-destructive testing (NDT) solutions, from Baker Hughes. The transaction, valued at approximately 1.45 billion USD, is aimed at expanding Hexagon's capabilities in the maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) sector.
Waygate Technologies, which generated 630 million USD in revenue in 2025 and employs 1,500 people, will operate under Hexagon’s Manufacturing Intelligence division. The move allows Hexagon to integrate Waygate’s radiography and computed tomography systems with its own metrology and software tools, providing an end-to-end inspection lifecycle offering.
Hexagon expects the acquisition to initially dilute its group margins by approximately 150 basis points. The company plans to improve Waygate's margins to its target range of 21–24% through operational changes and cross-selling initiatives. Total integration and carve-out costs are estimated at 50 million EUR.
