Hi3D releases production-ready 3D AI model as open source
Hi3D has transitioned its 3D generation AI model, previously known as Sparc3D, to an open-source license to support developers and researchers.
Beijing-based technology firm Hi3D has released its Hi3D V1.0 model under an open-source license. Formerly known as Sparc3D, the model is designed to generate 3D assets suitable for professional production environments.
The decision to transition to open source aims to accelerate the adoption of generative 3D technology across various software ecosystems. By making the model accessible, Hi3D intends to provide developers and researchers with a standardized toolset for automating 3D content creation.
Generating high-quality 3D models has historically remained a challenge due to technical complexity and high computational requirements. Hi3D V1.0 seeks to bridge this gap by offering a validated architecture that supports integration into existing production pipelines, potentially reducing the time required for manual 3D modeling.
The open-source release is intended to foster collaborative development, allowing the broader industry to iterate on the current version of the technology.
