Development on Hideo Kojima's new title, OD, is progressing as scheduled with its audio recording phases. The project had experienced delays due to the SAG-AFTRA strike in the United States, but voice acting and related audio work have since resumed. The game is anticipated to offer a novel take on the horror genre.

Hideo Kojima, the acclaimed game director behind Kojima Productions, shared the update at Tokyo Game Show. Performance capture and ADR (Automated Dialogue Replacement) sessions, which were halted by the strike, are now back underway. Kojima expressed his anticipation for players to experience the performances delivered by actors Sophia Lillis and Hunter Schafer.

Reports from June indicated that OD was not affected by Xbox's broader strategic reviews or any cancellation plans. Kojima has previously stated his ambition for OD to challenge existing perceptions of horror games and explore "new limits of fear." However, specific details regarding OD's release date, platforms, and gameplay mechanics remain undisclosed.

Microsoft Xbox has also been strengthening its collaboration with Kojima, agreeing to publish his other upcoming title, PHYSINT. This follows Sony PlayStation's withdrawal from that project, with Xbox stepping in to partner with Kojima.
