Highstar Launches Battery Cells for AI Data Centers
Highstar unveiled its latest full-chain battery cell solutions for Artificial Intelligence Data Centers (AIDC) at the GGII Energy Storage Industry Summit.

NANTONG, China – July 27, 2026 – Highstar, a battery cell manufacturer, has introduced a comprehensive portfolio of battery cells specifically designed for Artificial Intelligence Data Centers (AIDC). The new product line was presented at the 2026 GGII Energy Storage Industry Summit.
Highstar's solution addresses three critical power levels: gray space UPS and high-voltage DC (HVDC) systems, white space battery backup units (BBU), and grid-connected energy storage. This multi-tiered approach aims to meet the challenges posed by increasing AI workloads, including higher rack density, fluctuating loads, and the demand for reliable power.
For gray space applications, Highstar offers lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells optimized for rapid discharge in UPS and HVDC systems. Additionally, sodium-ion cells are provided to operate across a wide temperature range, from -40°C to 80°C. For white space BBU applications, the company features cylindrical cells in 18650 and 21700 formats, incorporating both LFP and high-nickel NMC chemistries, engineered for demanding BBU performance.
For grid-side applications, Highstar integrates 314 Ah lithium-ion cells and 160 Ah sodium-ion cells. The entire product family, combining lithium and sodium-ion technologies in various cell formats, is intended to simplify integration and operation for data center operators.
Highstar also participated in the launch of the "2026 Global AIDC Power Supply Industry Development Blue Book" and received official industry recognition as a leading entity in AI data center energy storage.
