Hilco Real Estate to Sell Landmark Hotel in Springfield, Illinois Bankruptcy Sale

Hilco Real Estate, LLC announced on July 30, 2026, that it will sell a landmark hotel property in downtown Springfield, Illinois, through a bankruptcy sale.

Designated as a former hotel property, the sale will occur via a "credit bid process" with a final bid date set for August 27, 2026. Bids for the property are set to begin at $1 million.

The hotel's current owner, "The State House Inn," has been an established entity in the area and a significant asset for Springfield. Hilco Real Estate, LLC has been tasked with facilitating this specialized sale.

The sale aims to maximize value for creditors. Hilco Real Estate, LLC is an arm of Hilco Global, a financial services firm. The company has experience managing similar distressed asset sales.

The State House Inn, located at 121 South Sixth Street, features 200 guest rooms and event spaces.
