Hilo Blood Pressure System Named to TIME's Best Inventions List

NEW YORK – Hilo Core, a blood pressure health system, has been named to TIME Magazine's 2026 list of the Best Inventions in the Medical & Healthcare category. TIME announced its annual list on October 15, 2026.

Hilo Core, launched in the U.S. in July 2026, aims to help individuals understand their blood pressure patterns over time, moving beyond isolated readings. Nearly half of U.S. adults have high blood pressure, a major risk factor for heart disease and stroke. While traditional methods offer only snapshots, Hilo provides continuous data.

"Being recognized among TIME's Best Inventions is an incredible honor and a powerful affirmation of our mission," said Stefan Petzinger, CEO of Hilo by Aktiia. "Hilo's goal is to help control blood pressure better by giving visibility into patterns that occasional readings can miss." Petzinger stated this empowers individuals to better understand how daily choices influence their blood pressure.

The Hilo Core system includes a lightweight wearable band, a mobile app, and an FDA-cleared upper-arm cuff. The device can capture up to 35 measurements per day, including overnight. The app integrates long-term blood pressure trends with sleep, step, and heart rate data. The product is available through Hilo.com and Amazon.
