Hippocratic AI launches Polaris 6 Ultra healthcare language model
Hippocratic AI has introduced Polaris 6 Ultra, a new healthcare-focused language model designed to improve patient-agent interaction through real-time emotional analysis and faster response times.
Hippocratic AI has released Polaris 6 Ultra, an iteration of its specialized language model for the healthcare sector. The company claims the update includes features aimed at enhancing voice interaction, specifically the ability for the AI to analyze a patient’s emotional state and adjust its speech pacing in real-time without perceptible pauses. According to CEO Munjal Shah, the model was trained on over 323 million patient conversations to improve autonomous handling of clinical scenarios.
The updated architecture incorporates a 7.4-trillion-parameter safety system, which the company claims runs 1.3 times faster than the previous version. The technical enhancements include improvements to the model’s clinical speech recognition, aiming to reduce errors in processing audio from patients with speech impediments or high background noise.
Hippocratic AI has also shifted its pricing structure to accommodate various healthcare workloads, offering tiered versions of the model ranging from full clinical interaction (Ultra) to administrative use cases (Nano). The company aims to position these tools as alternatives to general-purpose language models that often struggle with the specialized requirements of clinical diagnostics and patient management.
