Chinese electronics manufacturer Hisense has unveiled its new A10 smartphone, which combines the functionality of a typical smartphone with the reading comfort of an e-ink display. The front of the phone is equipped with a 6.13-inch e-ink screen, designed to mimic paper for extended reading sessions and note-taking.

A notable feature of the Hisense A10 is its rear panel, which can accommodate a magnetically attached, interchangeable LCD color screen. This allows for more conventional smartphone usage, such as viewing images and videos, browsing social media, and general entertainment. Users can opt for an e-ink-only version or the dual-screen configuration.

Technically, the A10 runs on Android 16 and is powered by a Qualcomm chipset built on a 4-nanometer process. The smartphone also supports 5G networks and Wi-Fi 6, ensuring high-speed data connectivity.

The A10 aims to provide users with versatility and flexibility by merging the capabilities of a dedicated e-reader with the features of a modern smartphone. Release dates and pricing details have not yet been disclosed by the company.
