Hisense makes refrigerator the kitchen's smart hub

Chinese electronics manufacturer Hisense has launched its PureSmart Duo refrigerator series, aiming to make the kitchen the social hub of the home. The launch is part of Hisense's broader vision for interconnected smart home appliances powered by artificial intelligence.

The PureSmart Duo series builds on the "AI Companion Suite" concept introduced at IFA. Hisense states that the kitchen should be a space where technology supports cooking, entertainment, and communication. The refrigerator serves as a central device in this vision, connecting users, other appliances, and services via the ConnectLife platform.

The four-door model in the series offers a 611-liter capacity and features a 21-inch touchscreen. The unit includes an integrated ice and water dispenser providing purified water and ice. The screen can be used to stream videos, watch television, or play music during cooking activities.

Hisense emphasizes that the AI Companion Suite is not solely about smart devices, but that technology should foster human connections. The PureSmart Duo aims to make the kitchen a natural gathering place for family and friends, offering features like interactive recipes and drink preparation guides for social events.
